 About Me

I have always enjoyed working on crafts and particularly enjoy making jewelry.  I had gone through the paper jewelry and friendly plastic phases and then in the mid-1990’s my sister-in-law Janet wanted me to take a beading glass with her.  Now, because I have a number of other craft hobbies, I wasn’t very interested in taking on another one, but she did finally convince me to take a class on making earrings and basic bead stringing.   I enjoyed the end results and did play around with making a few necklaces and earrings but it didn’t really “spark” my creativity.  And then, she struck again and wanted me to take a class on working with wire.  I played hard to get for a number of months, and then I agreed to take a class with her----what can I say---from that moment until now I have been “caught” by the love of wire wrapping and sculpting.

I was fortunate to be able to take several classes in the late 1990’s from Lynn Merchant and learned how to make a number of wire beads as well as techniques for wrapping wire.  My passion for the creative process of transforming a bead or gem stone into a beautiful piece of wearable art, has not diminished from then until now.  I continue to learn new techniques and have expanded my designs from wire beads and earrings to making pendants, rings and bracelets.

I work primarily in sterling silver and love the look of this with gemstones and lampwork beads.  I have transitioned from buying most of the connecting pieces to creating my own and really love the added artistry that this brings to the pieces.

In September 2006, I got married and jokingly tell my husband Dan that it was definitely a match made in heaven because his sister-in-law (my new sister Diana) makes beautiful lampwork beads.  So, we were meant to be together so that she and I could create beautiful jewelry.    Prior to seeing her handcrafted lampwork beads, I seldom used glass beads in my designs---but when you know the artist, it is a whole different story and I love her style.

It gives me a great deal of pleasure to create each piece of wearable art.  I especially enjoy hearing from people who have purchased or been “gifted” a piece about how they like the piece and the compliments that they receive when they wear their piece of art.

I hope that you will find something here that you would like to add to your personal collection and that you will let me know about any comments that you receive when you wear the piece.

Thanks for visiting my site.
